Seed storage and weather

The relationship between seed storage and weather conditions is extremely close. In the northwest of China, the storage of various kinds of rapeseed appears to be very simple. After drying, it can be wrapped or bottled, and it will not deteriorate after one year. However, it is very difficult to store seeds on the coast of South China. If it is still used according to the custom of the North, as a result, the vast majority of seeds will not sprout in the coming year. No change in appearance, why not sprout it? It turns out that this is a hot and humid place. The air contains a lot of mold spores. These spores germinate and grow long when they are exposed to suitable base materials (seeds) and meteorological conditions (high humidity), which makes the germ of the seeds deteriorate. In the spring, the south China coast is affected by the static front. It is often rainy. The humidity often reaches saturation. There are often several episodes of wet weather. When the colder air in the north goes south, the house will cool down strongly (because there is no heating equipment). When the warm and humid air mass of the ocean surface returns to the mainland, it will condense on the surface of the cold object. At this time, the water vapor is almost pervasive, and all the substances are prone to mildew. How to save seeds better? After the seeds are dried, they are mixed with straw ash and bottled, and double caps are tightened. Doing so for two years is not a problem. Because mold is afraid of dry and alkaline substances. Under unfavorable ecological conditions, spores do not germinate, and hyphae are extremely difficult to grow, whereas turfgrass can absorb both moisture and alkalinity. Follow this method to save seed prospects. Don't believe you can try it.
