Seven measures to improve the survival rate of chicks

For newly-starting chicks, consider the breeder flock: genetic disease inspection; hatching process: all the hatchery is not contaminated; whether the house is completely sterilized; whether the breeding environment is good, the surrounding epidemic and the construction of a biological safety system. 1. Add sugar water

Allowing chicks to drink 8% of sucrose water within 15 hours of hatching can reduce chick mortality by 50%.

2. Drug prevention

Chicken flies and coccidiosis are the main causes of death in chickens. Adding 0.2% oxytetracycline to feeds before the age of 3 weeks of chicks has a specific effect on the prevention of ferrets; the addition of appropriate amounts of chlorpheniramine to the feed after 15 days of age can prevent coccidiosis.

3. Strictly sterilize and prevent infection

The fumigation of formalin for hatchery, brooding room, eggs and various utensils can prevent chicks from infecting E. coli and Staphylococcus.

4. Adjust density to prevent extrusion

In indoor large-scale brooding, the density of chickens should be adjusted as the chicken grows, preventing the birds from stacking.

5. Careful management, balanced nutrition

Do not put feed and pesticide together; do not feed moldy feed; do a good job of indoor ventilation. During the brooding period, full-price balanced feed is provided to avoid nutrient imbalances or malnutrition.

6. Take strict care to prevent predators

Dogs and cats are strictly prohibited from stealing chicks. Block rat holes to prevent rat damage.

7. Grasp the brooding temperature and humidity

The brooding temperature is preferably 35°C for the first 1-2 days of brooding and 32-34°C for 4-7 days. However, in practice, the temperature of brooding should be controlled flexibly and adjusted in time. Brooding humidity, the greater the humidity in the first three days, the better the relative humidity is 80-85%, the first 4-6 days, the relative humidity is 60-65%.
