Jiuhua Buddha Tea History and Origin
History and origin
(i) The Jiuhuashan tea ceremony began in Tang
There is a sentimental “Send the Boy Down the Mountain†poem:
The empty door is lonely and homeless.
Love riding bamboo horses to the bamboo bar, lazy to golden sand poly sand.
Add a bottle to the rest of the month.
Do not have to go to tears, daddy accompanied by haze.
In the poem, he wrote "Knocking and killing flowers," and it can be seen that Jindi Tibetan and his disciples were also drinking tea. However, this poem is also used as a "return to a bottle for the rest of the month, and a flower in the wash pool." If so, the poem is not related to tea.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Chen Ya wrote in his poem “Jiuhua Poetry Collection†“Zenchao Fengâ€: “Before Xifeng, a former scholar of Zhaojin Tibetan Buddhism, he used to cook and cook.†Also note: “The bell tower of Guanghua Templeâ€. It can be seen that there is a seat of Sencha Peak in Mount Jiuhua. The peak is above the bell tower of the Guanghua Temple in the Song Dynasty, and the name of the mountain peak is because of the golden geology of Tibetan tea. Chen Ya's poem "Zichao Feng" once again shows that Kim Jizo not only likes to drink tea, but also often drinks tea to serve his companions. Of course, with this poem alone, we still cannot be sure that the tea in the Golden Dzong Tibetan Buddhist monastery is Jiuhua Mountain Native Tea or Shanwai Tea.
In Tang Dynasty, Feng Song's "Feng Shi Wen Ji" Volume VI "Drinking Tea" records: "Since Zou, Qi, Yi, and Yan, they gradually went to the capital city of Beijing to open more stores, sell their tea, and don't ask for custom. The money took a drink. Its tea came from JAC, and the scooters successively took their place in the mountains. There was a lot of color.†Feng Song was the Emperor of Emperor Xuanzong Tianbao, and his life was about the same time as Jin Qiaojue. Jianghuai refers to Jiangnan and Huainan, and is the main producing area of tea in the Tang Dynasty. At that time, Anhui Huoshan Huangya, Qianshan Tianzhu Tea, Xuancheng Laoshan Hengwen Tea, and Qimeng Tea were all famous teas at that time. It was not surprising that tea was produced in Jiuhua Mountain, a famous mountain in the south of the Yangtze River.
"Fengshi Wenzhi" also contained: "(tea) South people drink well, the northerners do not drink too much at the beginning. In Kaiyuan, there are demons at Lingyan Temple in Taishan, Daxing Zen religion. All of them drink tea. From the people, cook everywhere, from then on to imitate it, and become a custom." Tea for Buddhists to drive to sleep and entertain pilgrims, visitors, is widely popular in the Buddhist temple, monks tea drinking Become windy. After Tang Kaiyuan, the northern part of the original tea-producing country was influenced by the Zen Buddhism tea drinking habits. He also “drinks everywhere and then follows the example and becomes a custom.†Jiuhuashan is located in the south of the Yangtze River, where tea is abundantly produced. Tea in the Tang Dynasty is very likely, and it is only natural that the monks on Jiuhua Mountain are drinking tea.
(b) Jiuhua Camellia was first established in Song Dynasty
During the Southern Song Dynasty, the left-hand prime minister Zhou Bijie visited Jiuhua and once wrote Jiuhuashanlu. He toured Jiuhua, “to the Huacheng Temple,... the gold-covered pagoda,... Beiyuan. Beiyuan is located in Jian'an County, Jianzhou (now Jianyang County, Fujian Province). The tea produced by Longfeng Tea is exclusively for the royal family. It is the most famous tea of the Song Dynasty. After Zhou Bida tasted Jiuhuashan native tea, his taste can be compared with Beiyuan tea. Obviously, Jiuhua Mountain in the Song Dynasty not only produced tea, but also the quality of the tea was excellent, even close to the most famous Beiyuan Gong tea.
Chen Ya's "Jiuhua Poetry Collection" "Ode to the source of" poetry: "The warm wind blowing long purple bud stalks, people cook on the hill to the water." And self-injection: "Yanshengyanbeixi, producing delicious flavor." Visible Jiuhuashan Qishengyan North Stream produces tea, which is particularly good. Chen Yayin said that this is consistent with Zhou Bida's evaluation, which shows that the Tea of Jiuhua Mountain in the Song Dynasty has emerged with its superior quality.
However, what kind of tea is produced by Jiuhua Mountain in the Song Dynasty? Tang Dynasty tea has four categories: coarse, loose, end, and cake. There are two types of tea in the Song Dynasty: tea and powder. In addition, tea made from loose tea is used. The so-called piece of tea, that is, group cakes and tea, is best known as the Long Tuan Feng Pan Gong Tea in Jianzhou. However, outside of Jianzhou, the cake was gradually changed into bulk. The so-called loose tea was steamed green tea. In the Song Dynasty, Yixing, the most famous producer of Yangshuo tribute tea in the Tang Dynasty, also changed production of loose tea. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Ge Changzhi said in the text: "Self-built tea is in tribute, and Yangshuo is no longer making paste. It means grass tea." Grass tea is loose tea. From the Southern Song Dynasty, although the court praised Beiyuan Gong tea, it was still a group of cake tea. However, in the civil society, it began to enjoy tea and came to the Yuan Dynasty. At the time, Shuangjing Tea in Jiangxi Hongzhou and Zhuji Tea in Zhejiang were the famous teas in the scattered tea at that time. Jiuhuashan is no exception. Its tea is steamed green tea.
In the Southern Song Dynasty, Chen Ya's "Zichaofeng" poem: "Spring Mountain carefully picked purple buds, and Jasper's smashed milk flowers." "Blow fire to bake water and fry, and Mount Zhuoxi takes clear springs." The tea produced in Jiuhua Mountain in the Song Dynasty should be bud tea. Or leaf tea.
(3) Jiuhua Camellia is famous in Ming and Qing Dynasties
In the Ming Dynasty, Li Shizhen's “Compendium of Tea Production†in the “Compendium of Materia Medica†and “The Famous Tea Producers†included “Jiuzhou in Chizhouâ€.
In the Qing Dynasty, Liu Yuanchang’s “Tea History†and “The Tea's Famous Produce†wrote: “Jiuhuashan has 'empty stem tea' and is a gold planted place. It’s amidst hazy clouds and mists, the air is often moist, and the ground is planted. ."
Lu Tingcan's "Continued Tea Classics" and "Eight Outs": "Annals": Chizhou Prefecture is Qingyang, Shiqian and Jiande, all produce tea, Guichi also has it, and Jiuhua Haw cemetery tea is called by the Quartet. ."
Jiuhua Camellia was well-known throughout the Ming and Qing Dynasties and was the famous tea of the time. In the early years of the Ming dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang issued a dedication to the removal of cake tea, which objectively promoted the development of loose tea. In the early Ming Dynasty, steamed green tea was continued along the Song and Yuan dynasties. In the late period, except for the production of steamed green tea in Luochun, Changxing, Zhejiang Province, all of them have been transformed into the production of baking green or fried green tea. The Jiuhua tea in the early Ming Dynasty was steamed green tea, and Jiuhua tea in the late Ming Dynasty should be baked green tea. According to historical records, Jiuhuashan’s historical teas include “Tiantai Cloud Fogâ€, “Longchi Cloud Fogâ€, “Dongyan Buxusâ€, “Jiuhua Longyaâ€, “Southern Moss Hollowâ€, and “Personal Immortalâ€, according to research. The "cloudy fog on the roof" is the modern "Huangshixi Maofeng" and "Longchi Cloud", which is the modern "Guanyuan Maofeng".
(D) Jiuhuashan Tea Industry Development in the Contemporary
In 1915, Huang Shixi Mao Feng won the gold medal at the Panama World Expo. This is the highest honor Jiuhua Tea has received. However, following the warlords' warfare, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and the ten years of turmoil, the development of Jiuhuashan Tea Industry was slow. It was not until the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee that the tea industry in Jiuhuashan entered a period of rapid development. In the mid-1980s, Professor Lin Hesong from the Tea Department of Anhui Agricultural University presided over the research project of Jiuhua Mountain Famous Tea Development issued by the Provincial Science and Technology Commission and developed Jiuhua Famous Tea. It has achieved certain results. At the beginning of this century, Chizhou further integrated the tea brand and established the strategy of “Jiuhua Focha†as the main product, which has brought the development of Jiuhua Focha into a new historical stage.
