AT&T develops asthma warning sensor
In December 2012, US telecommunications operator AT&T tested a sensor called an asthma trigger. This machine monitors volatile organic compounds in the air.
The sensor is connected via ZigBee technology into smart phones, tablet PCs or PC, transfer the data to the medical information AT & T's switching platform (also known as the healthcare community online Healthcare Community Online), thereby providing a risk factor specified geographical area for people. AT&T said that according to the American Association of Asthma and Allergy Foundation, 27,000 adults do not work every day in the United States due to asthma symptoms, and 36,000 children cannot go to school.
AT&T Lab researcher Bob Miller said: "There must be software, connectivity, and networking to compile sensor data into a form that doctors, caregivers, and patients can recognize. That's why AT&T researchers need to be involved. The sensor itself is Part of terminal-to-terminal measurement, wireless transmission, data storage, and analysis systems.
The sensor is currently in its infancy and will eventually become an integral part of the broader range of personal telemedicine ecosystems. According to Miller, it is an example of future healthcare, and sensors and computer-aided analysis systems will become more common.
