47 European hospitals are testing: "Laser + bacteria" make cancer disappear without a trace

  On December 20th, the British BBC website reported a revolutionary treatment for prostate cancer - the use of lasers and drugs made from deep-sea bacteria to eliminate tumors, not only does not produce serious side effects, and can make tumors disappear without traces. The therapy has been tested in 47 European hospitals and has entered Phase III clinical trials. The results were published in the Lancet Oncology.

Trigger kill without significant side effects

A total of 413 patients were enrolled in the trial. The new treatment uses a drug made from bacteria in the dark under the sea, which is only toxic when exposed to light. The researchers inserted the fiber laser through the perineum into the cancerous prostate. When the red laser is turned on, it activates the drug to kill the cancer cells, and has no effect on the healthy prostate.

A total of 47 hospitals across Europe conducted the trial and found that nearly 49% of patients had complete remission of prostate tumors. During follow-up, only 6% of patients required removal of the prostate, and 30% of patients who did not receive new therapy required removal of the prostate. Most importantly, the new treatment has no effect on sexual activity and urination for more than 3 months, and patients have no significant side effects after 2 years of receiving new treatment.

Lifetime impotence and incontinence are often the price of prostate cancer surgery or radiation therapy. About 9 out of 10 patients will have erectile dysfunction, and 1 in 5 will face a fight against bladder. This is why many early oncology patients choose to wait and see, and only when they develop into invasive tumors will they receive treatment. Professor Mark Emberton of the University College of London, who studied the therapy, said, "This therapy has changed everything."

Gerald Capon, a 68-year-old patient in West Sussex, United Kingdom, told the BBC, "I am completely cured now. I am very fortunate to receive this new treatment. Now I can live without any worries." The next day of treatment, he can be discharged.
