In a clinical evaluation involving 100 participants, the data showed that the App estimated the sensitivity and accuracy of hemoglobin concentration to be almost as high as the existing anemia detection diagnostic tool. A further assessment of the four participants showed that the accuracy of the App as a monitoring tool was also high.

The research team believes that the app can be used to screen for anemia in areas where specialized equipment and professionals are lacking, allowing anemia patients to remotely monitor their hemoglobin levels in less than a minute. However, further research is needed at this stage to determine the diagnostic accuracy of this method is high enough to replace blood-based anemia testing.
