In order to protect the quality of production of livestock and poultry products, the Regulations stipulates that the following behaviors shall be prohibited in the rearing of livestock and poultry: use of drugs and other compounds that are banned by national regulations such as lean meat, melamine, etc.; excessive use of veterinary drugs, feed additives or violations Livestock and poultry shall be used during the drug withdrawal period; livestock and poultry shall be fed with drowning water in restaurants and canteens that have not been treated at high temperatures; and livestock and poultry shall be kept in waste dumps or using materials from garbage dumps. Livestock and poultry breeding farms and aquaculture communities shall, in accordance with relevant state regulations, build facilities for the comprehensive utilization and safe disposal of livestock and poultry excrement, dead bodies, waste water and other wastes. The livestock and poultry that have been infected, died of disease, or whose cause of death is not known shall not be arbitrarily disposed of, and shall be disposed of innocuously as required.

In order to protect the traceability of the quality of livestock and poultry products, the Regulations stipulates that units and individuals engaged in animal husbandry, acquisition, slaughtering, and storage and transportation of livestock and poultry products shall formulate and implement a quality and safety traceability management system for livestock and poultry products. Livestock and poultry breeding files shall be established in livestock and poultry breeding farms and breeding communities, and farming and farming specialized households shall establish complete and true records of the use of veterinary drugs, feed and feed additives. Livestock acquisition units and individuals shall establish acquisition records. The retention period of acquisition records shall not be less than two years. Livestock and poultry slaughter plants shall establish livestock and poultry sources and livestock product flow records.
