Finnish study shows that sauna can reduce the risk of stroke

A new study conducted by researchers from the University of East Finland and colleagues in the United Kingdom and Austria found that saunas can reduce the risk of stroke.

The researchers used 15 years to follow up and surveyed 1,628 53-74 year-olds living in eastern Finland. The results showed that people who retire 4 to 7 times a week are 61% less likely to suffer a stroke than those who only sip a sauna once a week.

Researchers believe that saunas can help prevent stroke by lowering blood pressure, stimulating the immune system, improving heart and circulatory function, and so on.
