It is the most common fungal infection of the central nervous system, with high disease and high mortality. A study was published in the 4th issue of the Chinese Journal of Infectious Diseases in April. The investigators conducted a retrospective analysis of 38 cases of occult brain, and all patients were diagnosed by pathogenic examination. To analyze the clinical features and curative effects of cryptococcal meningitis (hidden brain). Eight of the 38 patients were unmedicated, 2 of whom were discharged automatically and the remaining 6 died. 30 cases were treated with antifungal therapy, 11 cases were cured, 7 cases were improved, 8 cases were transferred to hospital, 2 cases were discharged, and 2 cases died. Among them, 9 cases were treated with amphotericin B combined with 5-fluorocytosine, 6 cases were cured, and 3 cases improved. Therefore, it can be seen that the hidden brain is often misdiagnosed, missed diagnosis, repeated cerebrospinal fluid smear and simultaneous fungal culture can improve the diagnosis rate.
