A New Pleurotus eryngii Variety "Riyue No. 1"

"Jiyin No.1" is a genetically stable and highly agronomically-characteristic Pleurotus eryngii plant obtained from the fruiting bodies of Pleurotus eryngii imported from Japan in February 2001. The variety is large in size, high in yield, superior in quality, and strong in disease resistance. In 2010, it was certified by the Fujian Crop Variety Approval Committee.

The fruiting body of the variety is rod-shaped, solitary or grouped, and has a large flowering shape. The beginning of the cap is hemispherical in shape, flattened after maturity, and the lid margin is upturned at the later stage, and the center is shallowly concave, showing a shallow dish to a funnel-shaped body. The bacterial folds are elongated, dense, white, and unequal. Cap diameter 3-6.5 cm, average 4.9 cm, stipe length 15-24 cm, average 18.8 cm. As detected by the Central Laboratory of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the fruit body (fresh product) had a protein content of 2.16%, a crude fiber content of 1.4%, a crude fat content of 0.1%, and a total amino acid content of 1.39%. Investigations by the Agricultural Plant Protection and Quarantine Station of Cangzhou City showed that the incidence of diseases such as Trichoderma, Neurospora, and bacterial infections was light. After many years of trial planting, the average single bag (bag material dry weight 450 grams) 250-300 grams of mushroom production.
